Surprise Party: 19 February 2006

After a short walk along the peninsula (sadly Weston does not boast an isthmus) to Sand Point and back the WADAS members (absentees: nil) returned to what they are good at, cracking open a bottle of Champagne to celebrate Penny's half century in the carpark. The party really got going when the hatch-back was opened to reveal balloons, decorations and a delicious birthday cake. With a raw easterly wind the ice bucket was clearly superfluous. The festivities continued, partly funded by an English (Eccentric) Heritage grant for performing arts in tucked away places, until rigor WADAS set in. A thoroughly enjoyable experience for all the team and those spectators lucky enough to have secured themselves front row parking spaces.
